4th Scientific Meeting on Hellenistic Pottery - Mytilene 1994

The Aegean Sea was a maritime road that joined all the coastal cities and was widely used in antiquity by warships and merchant ships which were transferring through metropolitan Greece, Asia Minor, Black Sea and Mediterranean, various trade goods. During the Hellenistic period, the general activity in Aegean was great. Delos, Dodecanese, Samothrace and the major islands of the East gained a lot of importance. The Scientific Meeting was held in Mytilene and was organized by the K’ service for the Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities.
